Usually, consultants bill client by employee rates.  Each employee potentially bills at a different rate. It’s based on the employee, because that employee usually performs the same tasks on virtually all projects.

Each Project can have a Different Billing Rate

But it turns out that you can expand your typical ’employee rate’ billing to include other possible choices.

Here are some others to choose from:

1. Role rates, based on the role a person takes
2. Category rates, based on the type of work performed
3. Option Year Funding, for government contracts, where employees are named
